Climate Change Summary Reports Available for Parks and Refuges

Published: May 1 2009

SNAP has produced reports detailing climate change projections for National Parks, Preserve, and Monuments statewide. These climate summary reports describe potential future temperature and precipitation for 2040 and 2080, as compared to historical values, based on 1961-1990 climatology.

In addition, SNAP is now offering reports based on Boreal ALFRESCO (fire simulation) modeling for Interior wildlife refuges, as well as a statewide report. These documents focus on the projected impacts of changing fire cycles and changing post-fire succession.
