SNAP Director, Professor
Dr. Scott Rupp is the Director of the Scenarios Network for Alaska + Arctic Planning in the International Arctic Research Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). Dr. Rupp also serves as the University Director for the Department of Interior's Alaska Climate Science Center and as co-Principal Investigator for the NOAA-funded Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy.
Dr. Rupp is a well-established forest ecologist with specialized experience in ecosystem modeling. Recent work has focused on modeling the response of subarctic ecosystems to changes in global climate and disturbance regimes. Dr. Rupp has authored more than 65 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Rupp received a BS (1993) in Forest Management from Pennsylvania State University and a PhD (1998) in Forest Ecology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He is Professor of Forestry and has been a faculty member at UAF since 2001.
